APW - Waltham, five-minute repeater, 16J, mvt with 14S rear plate design and 18S dial and case diameter, 14K gold original Waltham HC, initialed monogram to front, 1899 date monogram to rear, gold cuvette, repeat function activated by slide on band, white enamel SS canister style (snap-on) dial, SW-LS, nickel damascene, s#2809520. Gross weight of assembled watch 86.2 dwt (134.0 g). This watch exhibits Waltham's earlier five-minute repeater design which was based on Georges Aubert's August 23rd, 1887 U.S. patent #368904. CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good repeat function with a somewhat subdued tone, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, some mild fine scratches, mild oxide to steel escutcheon around barrel arbor; dial with scratch in right side of seconds-register; excellent hands; case shows light wear, small ding to right side of rear, ding to band at 9, good engraving detail; tight bow, crown shows little wear; good glass crystal.
